The Secrets of Coffee Latte Art

What LATTE Designs you can make yourself easily

The milk you use should not only be creamy with a thick foam, but also beautiful to look at. Although latte art takes practice, a successful creation may liven up a cup of coffee. Since a simple heart is the basis for many designs, start with one and see where it takes you. Later, you could turn into a pro at being late.

Try this design on cappuccinos since it works well with a slightly thicker coating of milk froth

1- Start by adding the steaming milk to the crema from the top of your cup, around 3 to 4 cm down, allowing the crema rise and stretch the canvas.

2- Quickly drop the pitcher to the cup while keeping your pour and its center position after the cup is around halfway full. You should see a milky foam circle begin to encircle the cup.

3- When the majority of the milk has been poured into your cup, lift the pitcher back up and pour a line across the circle into a heart shape.

1- Repeat step 1 for the opposite heart.

2- Quickly lower the pitcher into the cup once it is about halfway full. Start gently moving it back and forth in a tick-tock rhythm.

3- Allow the milk to flow out in a zigzag fashion. When your cup is almost full, begin reversing the pitcher’s direction to make zigzag patterns that get progressively smaller.

4-Holding your pitcher at a slightly higher angle than before, begin to pour a line straight down the center once you have completed making your zigzags.

1. Begin by pouring a tiny circle of white into the center of your cup, just as you did for the heart.

2-Stop pouring and begin again about 1 to 2 cm behind the initial pour. As the foam begins to emerge, carefully advance the pitcher forward, pushing the initial circle out to the sides in the shape of a crescent.

3. Continue in this manner until you have the desired number of leaves. Finish the drawing by adding a tiny heart at this point and drawing the stem by pulling the line through the leaves.
